You have probably heard of mindfulness. It is becoming more and more popular. Even businesses are introducing mindfulness, wellness, and mental well-being activities and programs to reinvigorate their employees. Mindfulness promotes positive cognitive change. It is a way of dealing with stress and learning to ignore or push to the back of your mind the rubbish of the day and the world and to relax. An excellent mindfulness technique is meditation.

Meditation so something everyone should try. It helps you remove that chatter in your mind, focus on the here and now, and eliminate all the stress and strain. Ten minutes of meditation is generally enough to destress you completely. Another technique is to take a walk in nature. Not just to zip through like you are desperate to get out but to observe the trees and the plants. Listen to the animals. Zone out of city life and absorb the natural surroundings. The more in the moment you can be, the less stressed you will feel. Life should be lived in the moment, but too many people suffer from the regret of the past and anxiety about the future.

Creating goals is a great way to keep your mind focused on something positive. Perhaps you have always wanted to run a marathon, or maybe you want to become a doctor. Well, write these goals down and keep them at the forefront of your mind by sticking them on the fridge. If you have a goal, your life will have more purpose, and your flow of life will start heading toward that goal. With purpose comes a better sense of self. You are not directionless, floundering away in the world, not knowing what to do; you have drive and ambition. It doesn’t really matter how large or small the goals are; have some. Life is better with goals.

We are all allowed a little indulgence now and again. That goes for all your busy moms out there too. If you want to look after yourself, then you should start exercising. If you feel activity is too difficult at this juncture, why not go for a walk more often or even dance around the house listening to music while you clean?
