Vent

Sometimes, you just need to get something off your chest. Venting is not the same as complaining, so don’t feel bad about it. The next time you are worked up over something, make sure that you call up a friend for support. Choose someone good at calling you down, and who can keep their judgment at bay. As soon as you have their ear, you can then tell them that you just need to vent and that you aren’t looking for advice. If you do this then you will soon find that it is easier for you to get the stress relief you are looking for.

Play a Game

Playing games is also a great way for you to unwind. You can download them to your phone and when you do, you can then feel confident knowing that you can be taken away from the stress of your life. Taking a deep breath can bring your cortisol levels down and this is a great way for you to unwind a little more. If you are having a hard time relaxing then you can try to take a deep breath for 3 seconds, hold it for 3 seconds and then breathe out slowly. By doing this, you can regulate your breathing which, believe it or not, forces your body into a state of relaxation. Make sure that you give this a go if you have never thought about it before because it is a great way for you to begin feeling better about yourself in general. 

Take a Whiff

It only takes a moment for you to feel relaxed by lavender, ylang ylang or even rose. Take some essential oils and then rub a few drops onto your palms. You then need to make sure that it is absorbed into your skin, and then cup your hands around your nose. Take a couple of deep breaths and make sure that you are truly savoring the scent. This will help you to calm down, even during the most stressful of moments. You can also use an essential oil diffuser if you want. Just make sure that you keep it lit in the background so that you can use it during the times that you feel particularly stressed.


Meditate

Another thing you can do is meditate. Close your eyes and make sure that you choose an anchor for your mind. Try a meditation exercise too. If you can do this then you will soon find it easier to unwind and let all of your stress go. One thing to take note of, regarding meditating, is that you can do it anywhere you want. If you are on the go or in the car then you can easily turn on your app and practice along with it. This is one of the best ways for you to relax and you would be surprised at how much it could help you to get the result you want out of your stress relief experience.

Get Outside

Sometimes getting outside is one of the best things you can do. It doesn’t matter whether you sit, walk or run, just being out and about is one of the best ways for you to experience a change in scenery. It can also have a monumental impact on your stress levels too. If you want to compound the benefits even more then make sure that you chat with a friend while you are outside and have a laugh.
