5 Foods You Have To Try in Capri

Italy and the surrounding Islands are well known for their delicious cuisine. In fact, many people head to Italy simply to enjoy authentic pasta meals, wonderfully prepared vegetables, and of course, pizza.

We know that some of the best ways to see Capri in total are to make sure that you’re doing plenty of walking – just soak in the surrounding culture, and then charter a yacht in Capri for a unique view.

But after a day of sightseeing, what is it that you should be eating?

5 Foods You Have To Try in CapriCaprese cake

You’ve most likely heard of the very classic Caprese salad made of mozzarella, tomato, basil, and seasoned with olive oil and salt. But have you heard of the cake?

If someone were to offer you a flourless cake that’s just made using sugar, butter, almonds, and chocolate, you might be a little concerned about the texture.

There is still some conversation about how to make It – should the eggs be separated or should they go in with the other ingredients? One thing is for sure if you see it on the breakfast table or even as an afternoon treat, definitely take a bite.

Squid and potatoes

During the summer months, almost everywhere will be serving this as one of the main dishes. It is very much where the water meets the land. The squid is incredible and cooked up in a pan with potatoes. It really is as simple as it sounds, but the seasoning really makes it pop.

When it hits the table, the slight smell of white wine followed by parsley is the first thing you’ll notice. Although some of the seasonings will change based on where you buy it, you often enjoy garlic parsley, salt, pepper, and extra virgin olive oil.

Crazy water Pezzogna

There is little else as good as eating fresh seafood by the sea. This is a blue fish usually found in the Gulf of Naples, and the crazy water just means that it is a very specific method of cooking this type of fish.

The fish itself will be cooked in salt water and garlic, cherry tomatoes, salt, and oil. A light sprinkling of parsley is added to the top. Don’t be surprised if you see instead of the pezzogna, snapper, squid, or even white bream on the menu.

Risotto Al Limone

If you are looking for a creamy, delicious, incredibly simple yet light bite, then Risotto al Limone is perfect for you. It’s basically like summer in a dish.

Like many of the most delicious Italian foods, this one is made incredibly simply using shallots, rice butter, egg yolk lemon juice, and grated lemon zest. Usually, you’ll find Arborio or Carnaroli varieties of rice, which add a unique texture.

The dish is served hot and usually topped with a little grated Parmigiano-Reggiano.
