So there are tons of ways to make extra money during the Holidays ( or any time of the year really). One of the most popular is working a part time work from home job. Now, I know what you may be thinking, SO many of these “work from home jobs” are scams or they require large start up fees…. Well these are not the jobs we are talking about. There will be no mention of any direct sales jobs, “jobs” where you have to pay to play, or any known scams in here!
I have been working from home for a few years now. So it is safe to say that I have done countless hours of research on this topic since I wanted to make sure I wasn’t getting scammed and that you won’t be either!
No Start Up Work From Home Positions
One of the best ways to make the most extra money is to check out a part time work from home position. No matter if you are already working full time, or you are a stay at home mom, one of these jobs would be perfect for adding some extra income to your family.
I have been working for Appen on numerous different projects for two years now. They are really simple to work for, and offer different positions for people all around the world. You can choose to work either 5-7 hours a week, or 20 hours a week depending on how much extra income you want and how much time you want to dedicate. Different projects pay differently. Some are w2 taxed positions, but most will be independent contractor positions. This means you will have to pay out your own taxes at the end of the year.
You can typically either do web or social media evaluation for Appen. Basically, you will be given tasks, and state either if results are relevant to a search query, or categorize different social media ads into their appropriate categories. You will take a short training assessment, and then be good to go! If you are interested in this job, you can apply and see more here.
Leapforce is very similar to Appen in fact, they were recently purchased by Appen, but still remain a slightly different company. Most of these jobs are 5-7 hours a week. Paid as an independent contractor. One of the things I like most about Leapforce though is that most of the tasks are done from your phone so you can do them anywhere you want! You can learn more and apply for Leapforce here.
The final company I want to touch on that is great to make extra money is Lionbridge. Again, this is very similar to Appen and Leapforce, but they are a completely different company all together. You will be able to say how many hours you are able to work each week, and work tasks after completing an assessment. This company is international as well, which is great for my non U.S. readers. Check out their application page here.
All of the aforementioned companies allow you to work as you can from your computer. None of them require any phone work or a silent kid free space. This makes these companies perfect for stay at home moms especially since you won’t need any child care! Just as long as you get the required number of hours, it doesn’t matter when you do the work or if you do the hours consecutively.
Save Money While Making Money
So maybe you don’t want to commit as much time as some of the above work from home positions need. There are other ways that you can save money while making money at the same time!
Ebates is probably my favorite way to save money while shopping online. They tend to have a ton of amazing deals during the Holidays as well. Ranging from extra discounts to 3 times the cash back! What they do is offer cash back on your online shopping. I actually did a whole in depth post about Ebates here if you want to check it out.
I have been using them for probably 5 years now, and every Holiday season I usually earn anywhere from $200 – $500 cash back on gifts I would be purchasing anyways! If you want to check out Ebates, you can join here and get a $10 sign up bonus when you make your first purchase!
While I am not huge on survey sites, I do really like Swagbucks. It is a fun and easy way to make a little extra money for just taking some surveys and watching videos in your free time. It seems to me that the money can add up a bit slowly…But it is a great way to start saving some extra cash. You can sign up here and get a really sweet sign up bonus!
It y’all have been following me for a while, you know I love shopping second hand from Thredup. If you don’t know, they sell like new (and new) second hand clothes for a deep discount. You can also send in your clothes and bags to sell and make extra money to spend on the site or cash out to your PayPal. If you are interested in checking them out, you can sign up here and get $10 off of your first purchase order!
Start A Blog
Finally, if you want to start making extra money with the potential to turn into a full time income, you can always start a blog! Now this is not a quick fix to your financial issues, and it will take time and effort to build up to a money making blog. But let me tell you… Growing my blog to be a large source of income has been the best decision I have ever made. It takes very little upfront to buy your website… And really has the potential to be a huge return on your investment.
If you are interested in starting your own blog, I recommend you check out some of my free resources here… Or please, feel free to reach out to me personally and as me any questions you may have. I would love to help you out and walk you through this journey!
