Every year for my kids, we do a bunch of smaller “tree gifts”, their stocking stuffers, and one big gift. The big gift is usually something for outside and that will be enjoyed by both of them. I personally love doing big gifts because they usually last for years to come and these types of gifts are usually ones that inspire imaginative play or outdoor activities. So if you are in the market for a big gift for your kids this Christmas but aren’t quite sure what to get, I will share some of my big gift ideas that we have been loving for years!

Big Gift Ideas For Any Budget
As I mentioned before, I like to get my kids a “big gift” every year. Usually it is something that they will share and will last for years to come. Personally, my favorites are outside gifts because they encourage the kids to get out of my house and get some fresh air. While my big gifts are always the most expensive, that doesn’t mean that they have to be extremely expensive. You can do a “big gift” on any budget really, it all just depends on what you want to spend.
Big gifts don’t even have to be objects either. One of the best big gift ideas is a theme park ticket! Depending on where you live this can be passes to Legoland, Disney, or any number of local places that you and your child love to go. We will be doing passes to Legoland Florida this year for my daughter’s one and only birthday gift for example.
If you do want more tangible objects, here are a few big gift ideas ranging from rather inexpensive to more costly options.
While most places will be cold right now, water tables are still a really cool gift idea. They can be used all spring and summer and the little ones just love it! Here in Florida I can use them almost year round.
Ride On Toys
Last year, we got my daughter a really nice 2-seat dune buggy for her big gift and she has driven it often. Ride on toys are amazing, and they come in a wide range of prices that most everyone can fit into their Christmas budget.
For my daughter’s 3rd birthday, we invested in a big swing set for her. It is probably her most used toy and now our son can enjoy it as well. I highly recommend getting an outdoor play set or swing set of some kind if you have the room for one. They have all kinds of different varieties and a wide range of prices available.
Play kitchens are awesome and there are so many of them now at a variety of prices. They range from inexpensive to super high end. I have a mid-range one and my kids adore it, they have a really inexpensive one at my mom’s house and love it just the same though.
I never realized how expensive dollhouses were until this year. They are also giant! My daughter’s big gift this year is a dollhouse and at almost 5 years old, I think it is perfect for her!
So I know a few will disagree with me, but I love a trampoline. I had one as a kid and remember loving it so much. While we don’t have one yet, I know this will be a big gift one year!
Lastly, but certainly not least, electronics are always a wonderful big gift idea. As kids get older, they stop wanting toys and lean more towards electronics it seems. The beauty is that many of the electronics aren’t even that expensive. We had gotten my daughter the Amazon Fire Tablet one year and you would have thought it was the best thing ever, but we only spent $33 on it!
Big gifts don’t have to be super expensive, which is what I love!
