Organic Baby Products: Finn + Emma

If you are anything like me, you want only the best for your baby. When Luca started teething recently, I remember the horror of everything going in his mouth. Any little thing he could reach, was going to be covered in slobber, no questions asked.  I started thinking about what he was putting in his mouth. Even the teething toys I have are plastic and probably not the best for a baby to chew on once you think about it. Deep into my contemplation of how gross it was that everything was going in my child’s mouth, I discovered Finn + Emma. They are an organic baby product company and I was lucky enough to try out a few of their products for review.

Finn + Emma is a line of organic baby products that are eco-friendly and non-toxic.

The Products

Now that we know what Finn + Emma is all about, we can move on to the fun part, the products! They have a wide variety of organic baby products listed on their website. I chose a few things that fit my needs, but they have so much more than that! Something I was strongly looking at was their wooden play gyms. They had killer reviews and were super adorable. The only reason I did not pick one up was because I already have a play gym and really had no need for a new one.

 Wooden Teething Toy

The first item on the site that I knew I had to pick up was the wooden teething ears. As I mentioned earlier, my son is in the throws of teething and it is making him and I very miserable. I thought maybe this simple and adorable teething toy would posses some magic powers to help alleviate my son’s pain. Well, it does not posses magical powers but it is a hit with my little drool monster. He had been munching on this little guy since I opened the package, and I have to say I am quite impressed. Typically he loses interest very quickly, but he really loves this wooden ring of magic.

Bandana Bibs

The next item I picked up for my little drool monster was an adorable bandana bib. I was actually rather skeptical of this purchase, because I had used bibs in the past and they did nothing to keep my son’s neck dry. He would drool right on through the bib, soak his clothes, and have a red wet smelly neck. Oh the joys of parenting. When my order arrived I put that sucker right on, no time to waste! It was super soft, and no doubt adorable, but was it functional? After an entire day with the bib on, his shirt was dry. His neck creases were dry, it was like a miracle. I have no idea what they do to this bib to give it these powers, but it is quite effective at keeping drool monsters dry where it counts.

The bandana bib does a great job at keeping a drooling baby dry!

Lovie

Lastly I picked up a rattle lovie.  I had remembered that my daughter adored her lovies when she was a baby, but for some unknown reason my son didn’t even have one! That situation needed to be rectified. They had quite a few cute ones to choose from, but I went with the rattle lovie from their totem collection. My son instantly took to this toy as soon as I got it out of the packaging. I think he liked the noise it made when he shook it, because he continuously shook it for quite some time. He is at that age where he likes to explore a little, and this lovie was very curious to him. Since we got it, it seems to be one of his favorite toys. Not that a 4 month old can really tell me, but he reaches for it over others so I think it is safe assume. The blanket part is super soft and the rattle is well made and seems pretty durable.

Final Thoughts

I think I have fallen in love. Not only are all of the products super adorable, I really like that they are all organic and non-toxic. Luca seems to really be enjoying them as well. My favorite item was the bib, that thing will be sticking around and I will be purchasing more. With my next order I really want to get some of their clothes. So if I do that, then I will update this review to let you know what I thought.

My brother and his fiancé just had their first baby a few weeks ago. Sounds like auntie needs to go on a shopping spree here for him.

I have heard that! I never used one personally but I know with bath toys you can put hot glue in the little hole to keep the moisture out

now that i think about it, plastic teething toys are actually not a very good idea. i mean saliva is highly reactive being composed of digestives enzymes and that is mixing with plastic which might be micro ingested by a baby. a wooden teething toy sounds great and safer.

as for the bib, wow! if they can keep the baby dry from drool the whole day, that is quite a feat. i used plastic backed bibs before but they annoyed my son quite so. this is a good idea for baby number 2

As a military wife who could barely handle her busy schedule I am truly glad I came across your post. If ever I’ll bless with our own bundle of joy this year, I’ll definitely double check this amazing products for babies!

I am all about the wooden teething toys!! In theory, at least. I really wanted a natural teething toy for Doll, when she was all about it. But the phase passed pretty quickly and she wasn’t a huge “mouth explorer.” So I never did get her a wooden teething toy. But baby two is due in 7 weeks so … 🙂
